Professor Robert Suttles has been involved in the martial arts for the past thirty-five years. He started his training as a young boy with his step father, a hand to hand combat instructor in the USMC.
In 1993, he was promoted by the late Sifu Dick Burrows to full instructor in the art of Jeet Kune Do/Kali. In 1997, he was promoted to 5th degree black belt by Grand Master Victor A. Hughes, a Purple Heart recipient and black belt hall of famer in the art of D.O.C.S. Karate. In 1998, he was promoted to full instructor by Master Steve Golden, former personal student of the late Bruce Lee, in the art of Jeet Kune Do.
Professor Robert Suttles is one of the co-founders of Pierce Family Gung Fu under the leadership of Grand Master Ron Pierce. In 2003, Professor Suttles was promoted by Grand Master Ron Pierce to 8th degree black belt in the art of Kajukenbo.
